Three items this month: in-store screens, cloud bills, and private AI. Each one comes with the part the source left out and a straight answer on what to do next.

DIGITAL SIGNAGE
Store screens are underused because nobody owns the budget.

43% of retail media buyers say they underuse in-store media, IAB finds
The IAB and Grocery TV surveyed 100 US retail media buyers who already run in-store campaigns. 43% said their organisation is underutilising its in-store retail media investment. 59% ranked inventory and scale in their top three evaluation factors, ahead of measurement and cost. Activation complexity and measurement limitations tied as the top barriers at 27% each, with a lack of creative resources at 23%.

The Adaptive Take
Read past the ad-buying frame and the barriers are the same ones that stall a single storefront screen: somebody has to build the content and somebody has to prove it did anything. The 23% citing a lack of creative resources is the quiet one, because it shows up as a screen running last quarter's promotion. Our signage tiers start at Starter, one PC with no cloud account, and go up through Basic, which is cloud signage managed remotely. Enterprise Plus includes design done for you, which is the part most owners underestimate.

SMALL BUSINESS IT
Cloud repatriation pays only if someone owns the ops hours.

FROM THE PRESS • Storeconsole
Cloud Repatriation for SMBs: When Leaving the Hyperscalers Saves Money, and When It Doesn't
A worked example prices a small shop at $5,226 a month on a hyperscaler against $3,985 on dedicated servers, a saving of $1,241, about 24%, or $14,892 a year. Ops time rises from 25 hours to 45 hours at $75 an hour, and break-even sits near 61 hours. Flexera's 2026 survey puts wasted cloud spend at 29%, the first rise in five years.

The Adaptive Take
What the model leaves out is that nobody meters their own ops hours, so the 45 goes into evenings and the invoice looks like a win for a year. Two concrete pieces of this we can take off your plate. Our NOC monitors the devices and links you now own and alerts before things break, which replaces the cloud console you gave up. Adaptive Compression is a one-time project: we assess your data, implement dedup and compression on hardware you already own, and hand it over, so the backup tier you just inherited defers the next storage purchase.

ON-PREM AI + IT CONSULTING
Private AI stalls on documents, not on hardware choices.
|
|
|
FROM THE PRESS • Shambix
On-Premise AI for Business: Privacy, Costs, Control
The case for running AI inside your own network is privacy, predictable costs and control: documents stay in-house, you pay for hardware rather than per request, and you decide when to update. ISTAT found Italian companies with at least 10 employees using AI doubled from 8.2% in 2024 to 16.4% in 2025. Most businesses do not need fine-tuning; RAG over indexed documents is the standard approach.

The Adaptive Take
Retrieval only works on documents that exist. The step that stalls most pilots is not hardware sizing, it is that the process worth asking about lives in one person's head and was never written down. Adaptive Cadence fixes the input side: screen-record a task and it writes the SOP, numbered steps, screenshots and the voiceover transcribed, which gives you a department knowledge hub worth indexing. Adaptive Reservoir is the private, governed AI your organization runs on that material, on-prem or in the cloud, with your data staying under your control.
